Introduction
Look Closely is a visual exploration that transforms the unseen complexity of green microalgae into vibrant, abstract forms. Using microscopic observations of real specimens as reference, I translated their delicate structures into colorful gradient shapes that celebrate their intricate beauty.
This artwork is part of my VIBRANT GREEN series. An exploratory fusion of design, science and nature that aims to capture the essence of our living, thriving world.
Concept
By elevating microalgae as the centerpiece of this visual study, The seires seeks not only to share their hidden beauty but also to raise awareness of their ecological importance, from oxygen production and carbon capture to supporting biodiversity and maintaining water quality.
The designs that emerged from this process formed the basis of a conceptual poster series titled "Look Closely," which invites the public to pause, observe, and appreciate these tiny yet vital creatures that often go unnoticed.
